It has been roughly a year since I have been on my mat and let me just say it is good to be back. The past year I have been dealing with an annoying cyst in my foot that has made it difficult to practice, but now with a second dose of cortisone in my foot, I am able to practice again without pain or discomfort.
This past Saturday was my first morning back and I totally slayed my practice. I was stronger than I thought I was going to be, my mind was calmer than it has been and felt all around peaceful. I felt so amazing when I left my mat I decided to take a Pilates/Barre class on Sunday and slayed it again. There is a saying “When you own your breath, nobody can steal your peace.” This is completely how I felt during and after my practice’s this past weekend.
The Center for Vital Living
My favorite yoga to practice is Heated Vinyasa. It is a studio room heated around 78-95 degrees. You typically expect a specific sequence of poses that smoothly flow together. You may also hear the terms Ashtanga, Baptiste Yoga, Jivamukti, Power Yoga and Prana Flow that are also considered vinyasa yoga.
I encourage anyone that has not practiced yoga or has been off their mat for a period of time to find the time to experience or reconnect with their mat. I am most thankful I did.
Until next time -Namaste
